Hi Akah, we're actively working with the Microsoft team to resolve this. Please wait for update announcements next week and also join our Devpost Discord for frequent updates!
Ahmed yasser • about 2 years ago
so should we wait until we can get the access or what to do exactly?
and how am I supposed to have a subscription for the azure to apply for the azure openAi. I cannot have the id because i didnt pay to get the id!

Hi Ahmed, yes please wait for our update next week, hopefully it’ll be before the submission start date. The Microsoft team is still working on this.
However, if you have a school email (.edu), you can go ahead and fill out the current form.

I am trying to team up with asun313 for this process however I am not able to navigate the collaborative elements of this hackathon. We currently follow each other but have no methods of communicating on Devpost. How can teammates collaborate throughout this process?
Janet Fang Manager • about 2 years ago
Hi Charles, if you go to the participants tab on this hackathon site, you’ll be able to find your teammate and add them there. Here’s our help guide: https://help.devpost.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022031411-Participants-page-forming-a-team#:~:text=If%20you%20see%20someone%20you,message%20each%20user%20one%20time.

Hi,
I'm in the same boat. Just got my application rejected because of using my personl gmail address.
Looking forward to a solution in this regard.

Hey everyone, we're still working on this - hope to resolve by end of this week. Please note: you DO NOT need access to the Azure OpenAI API to begin Part 1 (https://aka.ms/AzureCosmosDB/CSCPart1), which is now live!

Hello,
How many people on a single team for Part 2?
Janet Fang Manager • about 2 years ago
Hi Omar, no limit but every team member must have completed Phase 1 Parts 1 & 2 in order to be eligible for Phase 2.
Khensani Mashimbye • about 2 years ago
Hi Janet, i am trying to begin with part one but it wants company email and I don't want to use my company email for personal use.
Please advice what is the way forward? i do have a yahoo account for my personal use for microsoft learning.
Janet Fang Manager • about 2 years ago
Hi Khensani, can you let me know where it says you need a company email? Please note that requesting Azure OpenAI API is not part of Part 1 of the skills challenge: https://aka.ms/AzureCosmosDB/CSCPart1

Hi Janet,
While starting Part 1 does not require access to Azure OpenAI API, there are several modules in there which are dependent on this access, so in a way, we are still blocked by this issue.
Thanks for your continued support!
Janet Fang Manager • about 2 years ago
Hi Alex, we're in contact with the Microsoft team right now - are you able to let us know which modules you're encountering that is dependent on the Azure OpenAI access?
Omar Katoue • about 2 years ago
Hello,
Each of my team members has registered for phase 1. how can we establish that we are a team and will be working together for phase 2? do we need to sign our team up somewhere?
Janet Fang Manager • about 2 years ago
Hi Omar, once you start your submission on Devpost, you'll be able to put in your team's info.
Shreyas Rastogi • about 2 years ago
Hi Janet ,
I completed the Phase 1 and Phase 2 , but to follow " step-by-step developer guides to learn how to build your custom AI copilot " I need Open AI access in my subscription , I requested using my gmail account , but the request was denied , is there any way to get the access to build custom AI copilot and complete Phase 1
Janet Fang Manager • about 2 years ago
Hi Shreyas, if you have a school email, you that. If not, you can skip through the modules and just use our proxy site for the developer guides.
Nandini Mishra • about 2 years ago
Hi Janet, for the phase 1 modules, do I need to have an open API key access? If not, what are the API keys and proxy end points given for?
Also I am not able to create resources due to this in azure portal as it says the following while logging in-
"Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '0a2057a8-149c-40ca-859e-98de032535fb' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account."

Hi Nandini, were you able to request access to the OpenAI service? https://customervoice.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbR7en2Ais5pxKtso_Pz4b1_xUNTZBNzRKNlVQSFhZMU9aV09EVzYxWFdORCQlQCN0PWcu

Where do i need to use the given API keys and proxy end point link then for which we registered via github? cuz in phase 1 I was not able to do anything practically only theoretically I could learn through modules. pls guide me as to what this API key is needed for and how to go abt the NO ACCESS OF AZURE OPEN API SERVICES. Without it how and where would I be able to deploy/build my app
Janet Fang Manager • about 2 years ago
Hi Nandini, for Phase 1, you can just click through the modules. For actually building, we've asked you all to work through the developer guides (either node.js or python -- both linked on the main page). With the developer guides, you will be able to use the proxy site that gives you free access tot eh Azure OpenAI service.

Hi Janet, im not sure which subscription id to enter, should it be my college email id or personal email id? Moreover I'm a student so I do not associate with any company, how do I answer to the company related questions?
Nandini Mishra • about 2 years ago
Okay, so i'd have to start with the node.js or python.js guide to easily (without any access trouble) learn and build through the free access on proxy site right? Pls do confirm in case of any additional info needed. And thanks a lot for such an amazing super fast response!
Janet Fang Manager • about 2 years ago
HI Nandini -- if your'e requesting through the regular form (https://customervoice.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbR7en2Ais5pxKtso_Pz4b1_xUNTZBNzRKNlVQSFhZMU9aV09EVzYxWFdORCQlQCN0PWcu)
and you have a student email, please use your student email id. For company, just put school.
Yes, so for the Part 1 & Part 2 learning modules on the Microsoft sites -- you'll still need to click through all of them to finish them. But the main part -- building the actual copilot to get the screenshot, you'll need to use the developer guides + proxy site ◡̈ Hope this helps!

Hi Janet, can't use company email don't have a student email only personal email.
Can me and my team still do this hackathon?
We cannot use Azure OpenAI Service. But we can click through the module and complete it. And we do have Azure Accounts with Subscriptions. I have a started account with Free Credits.
Do we need Azure OpenAI Service for building the actual Copilot and having valid submission?
Also what's the Devpost Discord? Can you share a link please? Couldn't find it on the website
