1️⃣ Phase 1 (Individual Entrants Only)

  • Access Azure OpenAI Service NOW

  • Sign up for a Microsoft Learn account

    • Your teammates & your usernames must be submitted on your Devpost submission.

  • Complete Part 1 and Part 2 of the Azure Cosmos DB Developer Cloud Skills Challenge

  • Complete the developer guide and build your own custom AI copilot in the language of your choice (Node.js or Python)

  • Optional - Take two (2) completion email screenshots obtained from completing Part 1 and Part 2 of the Azure Cosmos DB Developer Cloud Skills Challenge

    • Completion emails will be coming from microsoft@e-mail.microsoft.com within 24-48 hours of completion.

    • If you don't receive them, no worries! Please include your Microsoft Learn username and email.

  • Take a screenshot of the custom AI copilot built by following the step-by-step developer guide

    • The screenshot must showcase the following custom text prompt: “My name is [your name] and I am participating in the Microsoft Developer AI Learning Hackathon.”

  • Upload all screenshots to your Microsoft Developers AI Learning Hackathon submission on Devpost

2️⃣ Phase 2 (Individual, Team, and Organizations Entrants Eligible)

  • Begin your submission on the hackathon site and remember to upload your custom AI copilot screenshots

  • Integrate the custom AI copilot developed during Phase 1 by updating or creating a project on Azure

  • Include the screenshot of the custom AI copilot built by following the step-by-step developer guide.
    • The screenshot must showcase the following custom text prompt: “My name is [your name] and I am participating in the Microsoft Developer AI Learning Hackathon.”
    • Your teammates & your screenshots must be submitted on your Devpost submission.

  • Provide a URL to the working AI app

  • Include a submission text description that should explain the use case, functionality, and why your AI app matters
  • Demonstration video (should be less than 3 minutes) showcasing the functionality and use case of the AI App
    • Videos must be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook Video and made public

  • Submit your project on Devpost and complete all aspects of the Submission form before the deadline

Important notes: 

  • All Entrants participating in Phase 2 must have completed Phase 1.

  • All Entrants participating in Phase 2 are encouraged to sign up for an Azure free trial.

  • Entrants may also request $100 in Microsoft Azure credits for the purpose of completing their Phase 2 Project (limit 1 per person and credit supply is limited).
